Her father is an Argentine who is of Scottish and English heritage. Her mother is of Spanish as well as English roots. Taylor Joy also has 4 brothers and sisters, with one coming at each one of their parents' previous marriages. Buenos Aires was her home until she turned 6, and the family moved to Victoria at London. Taylor Joy states that the move was a very difficult experience. She refused to learn English and believed she would be able to relocate back to Argentina. The school she attended had to be changed between Northlands to Hill House. Later, she enrolled in Queen's Gate School where she was a ballet student and performed in school productions. In her 16th year she decided to leave school to pursue an acting career. Taylor-Joy had always wanted to be an actor. As a teenager, Sarah Doukas Founder of Storm Management gave her the chance to become a model.
